It could be a good thing

Lux could see the party was starting to get louder and louder. People were drinking. Dancing. It was just painful. Everyone was having fun, but her. Even Stan had some guys from work to hang out with. He was so laid back. She really envied him.

"Hey, come here." Tosh took Lux's hand and dragged into the corner past all the lavished sweets Lux hadn't even sampled yet.

"What are you doing? Trying to come on to me?" Lux gave her a harsh glare.

"That's the thanks I get, trying to get you into our building, instead of you having to stay with that half-brother of yours." Tosh tossed back.

"What? Me, live here?" It wasn't that it was fancy or anything. The building was practically ancient. Even so, she just didn't know if this was her kind of place. "How?"

"Mrs. Fickle is moving to Sweden to live with her son, and she doesn't want to get rid of her apartment. She'll be gone like years, you see, but needs someone to take her apartment while she's away. She's just upstairs from us." Tosh told her.

"How convenient," Lux scowled as she hugged herself. "What's the catch?"

"The walls are pink," Tosh said. "But you really wouldn't have a problem with that."

"And?" Lux knew there had to be more.

"Her wardrobe is vintage." Tosh nodded.

"Really?" That was something to think about. "I dunno. I-" She looked over at Stan who was dipping a fresh strawberry in chocolate, of course, most of the chocolate got on his face when he took a bite. "I know he doesn't look like much, but he's pretty good in bed."

"What? You'd want Stan to move with you?" Tosh winced.

"Yeah, he would have to come." Lux gave Tosh her sad puppy look. Lux would not be here at Tosh's disposal. No way was she looking after that baby of her's. No way.
