No way would Lux think of moving in with her. After all, she did have Bug's baby. It was still hard to get used to because a part of her still loved Bug. Always would. They'd gone way back. To bad, he just couldn't stay out of trouble. He was in jail again.
Tasha carried the baby on her hip. He was dark eyed and beautiful.
"He won't sleep by himself." She looked so tired.
"Well, who's fault is that?" Lux wondered if she would have done any better if she were his mother.
"Look, I know you are mad at Jones. But, aren't you glad, you know, you guys didn't get in too deep." Tasha handed the baby over to her so she could make them some tea. She went to put on the kettle.
"I guess." It was troubling to Lux, Jones was keeping something from her, but she didn't know what. "Has..has he talked to you?" After all, Tasha and Jones had been lovers once. They were still friends.
"He doesn't tell me everything." Tasha looked at her as if she didn't want to say anything more.
Lux hugged the baby as he played with her hair.
"But you know something." Lux glared at her. She finally let the baby down and he ran for his toys to toss about on the livingroom floor.
"Maybe." Tasha hugged herself then.
"Like what?" Lux wanted to know. They were still best friends in spite of shared boyfriends and the like. She could always count on Tasha for the truth.
"He..he moved in with Eric." She finally told Lux.
"Eric?" Now Tasha had hit a nerve. Lux was still torn when it came to her- once upon a time tutor. She really did have a soft spot for him. "How is that possible?"
"I really don't know." It felt like a lie when she said it.
"You do know." Now Lux was more than perturbed. She stepped over a talking teddy bear then and went to the kitchen where Tosha was making tea.
"I guess Eric has..has feelings for Jones." Tasha shrugged.
"YOU MEAN THEY ARE TOGETHER! As in...fucking buddies?" Lux let slip. She couldn't believe this. Two guys she'd been in love with had now hooked up. She looked back at the baby. She guessed she shouldn't talk that way around the baby.
Poor Lux..but its kind of funny, too.
