over and out

"What do you mean, you won't help me?" Lux pushed Sam's feet off the old coffee table. She bet her Dad was helping him out more with this dingy place than he'd admit. It was right across the street from the University. It might have been pink and old, but it was a place to crash.

"No. I said. All right." His open wide, but he was still comfy. She supposed as he gazed at her. "Besides, Stan has the other bedroom."

Stan looked up at her like a scared squirrel, but he still had his thumbs on the controllers as if he meant business with the video game going on the TV.

"Fine." She hugged herself them. "I'll just stay with Stan."

Now Stan really looked like he might scared, but he said nothing but froze.

Lux rolled her eyes. "Move over." She scooted in next to Stan who looked at her out of the corner of his eye. He was being very quiet, but he killed the bad zombie that jumped of nowhere on the screen.

"You're such a baby." She pushed her fingers through his hair as if she'd do mad things to him. Tonight.

Stan remained mute. He looked at Sam, who laughed as if this were the biggest joke. Ever. He shook his head then.

"You are one crazy sister." He took the controller from Stan, who immediately hugged his frail self in his little gray muscle shirt.

"You won't want to room with anyone else by the time I'm through with you," Lux said with a taunting smile. She put her arm around him as if she was fine with it because she was staying.
